My favorite moment at any family get-together is that moment when everyone happens to be gathered around, and someone starts telling a story. There’s sure to be a lot of laughing, and maybe a couple of teary eyes as families remember their stories.
Heirloom: Family Stories exists to help families capture those moments and those stories and make them easier to share.
I have always loved learning about history, whether through books, primary source research, interviews, or museum exhibits. My educational experiences have furthered this passion. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and Augmented History in 2009, and with a Master’s Degree in History with an emphasis in Public History in 2015. I am experienced in oral history, document and photograph digitization, artifact handling and conservation, exhibit development, and educational programing.
Not only do I love to learn about history, but I want to make history accessible to all, starting with the stories that are closest to us.
The ones that directly shape us.
Our family stories.
